Kimball Electronics has recently been awarded an automotive electronics assembly contract with Brose Automotive, headquartered in Coburg, Germany. The contract includes manufacturing of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) for electronic controls used in power open tailgate or lift gate assemblies. The multi-year, multi-million dollar contract will be manufactured at Kimball Electronics – Jasper, located in Jasper, IN. These assemblies will support Brose production of their power tailgate/liftgate assemblies for automotive manufacturers in the NAFTA region, as well as Korea. With this new award, Kimball Electronics expands their partnership with Brose and is proud to support Brose from four of their worldwide facilities.
A simple foot movement is all it takes to automatically open and close the liftgate.
When it comes to providing additional comfort, the use of sensors allows the integration of additional features. Brose has integrated a sensor into the bumper, for example, which responds to a simple foot movement to open and close the liftgate, making loading and unloading of the vehicle more convenient without any key operation or luggage being set down.
